1943-1952
Jim Beeman, GM
Franchise #15
Franchise #15 was added to the Beeman Collection at the conclusion of the 1941 season. Original owner Casey Lyman volunteered for service in the US Army in 1936, selling his interest in the franchise to Baltimore philanthropist Steve Lyon. Following the attack on Pearl Harbor in 1941, Lyon was commissioned in the US Navy, granting Franchise #15 ownership to investor Jim Beeman. He retained control of the franchise in Covington until after the Korean Conflict in 1953, when Lyman retired from the Army and returned to operating a successful TCBA franchise until 1962. The franchise shifted through many owners in the ensuing years until finally landing in Farmington with Mike Mancini at the helm in 1994. The franchise has been there ever since.
