1933-1954
Walter MacEachern, GM
Franchise #9
A Baltimore investment group led by GM Walter MacEachern purchased the Franchise #9 team from Cleveland's Craig Shifflett in the middle of the 1933 season. It was the second time MacEachern had invested in a Baltimore team; his Franchise #12 BaySox played in Baltimore from 1921 to 1924 before they were sold to Sacramento's Gerry Hobbs. In 1999, MacEachern would also purchase Expansion Franchise #25, establishing the Gunpowder Ironmen.
