Following the end of the 1937 season, Don Mahley, the long-time league stalwart and founder of the TCBA franchise #2 Fortney Gators, was forced to leave his baseball operations to assume a career in the US Army, where he would remain until 1950. In the interim, TCBA intern James MacEachern was promoted to Acting-Franchise Operator for Franchise #2, given a 5-year contract. He continued to operate the franchise in its traditional location not far from Annapolis. He re-named the team the Admirals. In 2012, James Mac would finally be granted his own franchise, #21, which he located in Edinburgh as the Scotsmen.
